Day 2 – Descent through the Andean forest toward Lucmabamba / Santa Teresa.

Day 3 – Machu Picchu – Guided tour – Return to Cusco.

Detailed itinerary

Get ready for a start full of energy and epic landscapes. Very early we depart from Cusco in a private vehicle toward the Andes. Upon reaching the trekking starting point, we begin the ascent toward the challenging and majestic Salkantay Pass (4,600 m.a.s.l.), surrounded by glaciers and snow-capped peaks. This will be the highest point of the route and one of the most impressive. Then we descend along paths that will take us from the Andean cold to the temperate climate of the cloud forest, where the humid air and greenery begin to envelop us. We will spend the night in a basic shelter, enjoying a hot dinner under a sky.
