This express 4-day (3-night) trek is carefully designed to offer the essence of Salkantay: high-mountain passes, Humantay lagoon, Salkantay pass, cloud forest and culminating at Machu Picchu, with less time and maximum intensity. Day 1 – Cusco – Soraypampa – Humantay Lagoon – Quiswarniyoc Campsite.

Day 2 – Quiswarniyoc – Salkantay Pass – Challacancha Campsite.

Day 3 – Challacancha – Lucmabamba – Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes

Day 4 – Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco.

Detailed itinerary

We begin your adventure very early with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. We will head toward Mollepata and then to Soraypampa, the starting point of the hike. From here, we will ascend along a trail surrounded by mountains until reaching the dazzling Humantay Lagoon, a turquoise jewel located at 4,200 m.a.s.l. After enjoying this magical place, we will descend to our private campsite in Quiswarniyoc, where you can rest surrounded by nature, with a comforting dinner and a sky full of stars.
